I am a consultant clinical psychologist. I have mostly specialised in working with children, young people and their families. More recently I have worked with young adults, in particular university students.

I use talking therapies to try to help with dilemmas that people may be struggling with. I believe in using evidence-base and patient-choice to work out together what the best approach is for any individual. 

I mostly use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which is a range of talking therapies based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, behaviours and how our bodies feel are all interlinked. CBT suggests that by changing one of these things we can change the others. I am an accredited practitioner, supervisor and trainer with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). 

I also draw upon some aspects of narrative therapy, systemic therapy and psychodynamic principles and I have additional training in mindfulness (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and .b Mindfulness in Schools) and narrative therapy (Narrative Therapy Levels 1 and 2). 

In addition to being BABCP accredited, I am a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society. 

I see a small number of private cases in Bristol. I also offer supervision. When I am not working in clinic I work for the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies as their Senior Clinical Advisor and as a consultant clinical psychologist for Action for Children in Bristol. If you would like to get in touch about an appointment please contact me here including your phone number and email address.
